The Story of Calc Bowl 2014

Calc Bowl 2014 went off smoothly on April 9 at Gateway High School in Aurora. A down-to-the-wire photo finish made it even more exciting! There were 40 teams from all over the Denver metro area all way to Wyoming; 180 students from 12 high schools.

Thanks to support from Northrop Grumman Corporation, Aurora Public Schools, and many volunteers from Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Aurora Public Schools.

The Bowl consists of 350+ challenging calculus questions presented in quiz-show style to the students. For samples, please see the Calc Bowl General Info tab, Practice Problems. Questions are taken from or patterned after AP Calculus exams and in difficulty range from easy to stump-the-Prof.



Calc Bowl 2014 winners were:


1st place and 2014 Calculus Bowl Champions - Team Peak to Peak, Peak to Peak High School, teacher: Jacob Lehr (Boulder Valley Schools)

2nd place - Dy/dx-Men, Horizon High School, teacher: Marcella Safe (Adams 12 Five Star Schools)
